Over the past 18months both your childs school and the police have received numerous complaints with regards to the parking problems at this school, both in the morning (approx 0900hrs) and in the afternoons (approx 1500hrs).

The concerns raised are almost always connected to the safety of children, parents, school staff and local residents. There has also been concerns that emergency vehicles would have problems attending locations should the need arise.

Over this time we, in partnership with your school, have:

- placed articles in the school newsletter advising of the parking problems;
- written to specific drivers advising them that they are committing driving offences;
- given high visibility to these areas;

Unfortunately, the problems continue to persist and we are left in a position that we feel that we now need to look to issue fixed penalties notices for these offences. This is something we have tried to avoid.

Please DO NOT:

Block the pavement or road – please allow a fire engine to could get past on the road without difficulty and that pedestrians can use the pavement without difficulty;
Park on the bend of a junction;
Park on yellow lines during hours of operation;
Drive whilst using mobile phones;
Block resident’s driveways;

We do know that some parents do either park away from the school or walk with their children to school – for this we would like to thank those parents.

We will, in the very near future, look closely at these problems and issue fixed penalties as appropriate.

Please, if using your vehicle, park considerately.
